macho1 and other RT'ers,

There has not been, nor will there ever be a virus that will infect your
computer merely by opening up an e-mail message. If you open an e-mail
message that has an attachment, and you launch the attachment, then, YES
you could be running a program that could infect your computer. But the
mere opening of an e-mail will never cause a virus. This is a very
common misconception and causes unnecessary bandwidth with everyone
sending messages to everyone else warning them.

There are other scares like a disgruntled AOL employee saying not to
load the latest version of AOL, etc. etc. The US Department of Energy
has a web site that lists this "WIN A HOLIDAY" and other Internet hoaxes
which you may want to review. The site can be found at:

http://ciac.llnl.gov/ciac/CIACHoaxes.html

Hope this helps.....

With respect to Norman....
Calmingly,
George
