Hi Dan
I posted this message on this forum before (long time ago),
but with newfound vigor of RT, I'll happily post it again:
Beware relying on the Internet for real-time data. Delayed
data OK. But not real-time. If you need real-time, it means
you are making time-sensitive decisions. The internet has
several Achilles heels, beginning with the "backbone"
connection from the market city to your city, followed by
your ISP, followed by your telephone company. I used
Interquote via the Internet, and while it is a fine program,
it is subject to slowdowns beyond its control. I suffered
through Internet slowdowns, and shutdowns, had anxiety
attacks while "blind," and vowed to avoid telecom evermore.
I use BMI via satellite.
