RT's,

My point is not to get into a debate about degrees of subjectivity, but to
try to point out that SUBJECTIVE INTERPRETATION exists for decision making
by most people on this list. In the old days before computers, we used to
say: "boy, he really has a feel for the market".

I have worked for one of the most successful pit traders (bonds), and he
could never tell you how or what he did to make money. And you know what,
he really didn't know, but you put him in the pit and he instinctively knew
what to do. No computer, no RSI's, no full or new moons, just pure
instincts and knowledge of the crowd.

Even the most devoted of the computer traders on this list would probably
admit that they override their system from time to time. Or, they are
constantly tweeking the system to make it better. Again, a subjective
decision that the system can or needs to be improved. That's why new
computer systems are always hitting the market, the old one breaks down and
here's the new, improved version that it supposed to work better. Is it
really possible to model human behavior with a program that analyzes a time
series of prices in daily increments?? Oh, that didn't work so let's try
60 minute increments, or why not 5 minute increments.

Those, whose subjective interpretation is in sync with the markets they
trade, will be successful. Those who are not in sync will lose money and
blame it on the computer, the system, the book, the newsletter guru.....
you get my drift.
