You CAN'T! And that's way the guys on the floor will ALWAYS have an edge
over you. When YOU see the price, they have already traded it minutes ago. What you call breaking news, they call history. They make history; and you
trade it.
If you can avoid trading very short term, you might be able to escape those
seemingly 'irrational' moves (things we call whipsaws) to a certain extent.
Fear, however strong it may be, does not usually last for long. And the market
comes back to its senses after everyone (or most of them) realize what they
have been doing for the last couple of minutes. Also, your indicators have a
better chance at doing their jobs of 'filtering' out these whipsaws.
