Math Problems

I am reading The New market Wizards by Jack D. Schwager. There is a chapter
call
William Eckardt: The Mathematician. He uses many math related
terms/words that have no meaning to me, because all I can do it add,
subtract, divide, mult.... I'm terrible in math.

What interests me in this chapter; what I want to know is.... What
technical indicators are *in a mathematical since*, impossible?

Mr. Eckardt was trying to say which indicators were useful (mathematically)
and which ones were not, but I couldn't understand what he was saying.

I use MetaStock, and I would like to concentrate my time on those
indicators that have a mathematical chance of working.

I am truly not trying to start an argument here, so give me a break. I know
that many traders use successfully, indicators that are mathematically
impossible to predict price trends.

Thanks in advance.
