Unfortunately, this is all too common, it took me 6 months to get rid of
"Marketedge".
They did basically the same thing to me that Prophet Data did to you (I never
once used thier "service" and they charged my card for the next 6 months over
my numerous objections. The problem seems to be that once these guys know
that you no longer are, or never will be a customer, they make every effort
to scam you out of whatever they can since it is their last chance.
One final thought: some states come down very hard on these kind of scam
artists, try reporting them to your state consumer affairs people (if there is
one in your state).
