Hi Paul, Clyde et alia,
What is this stuff on FFT vs Fourier Analysis? I guess I've never heard of
the FFT, which I assume even in this venue, stands for Fast Fourier Transform,
being used as a market analysis technique. It is a mathematical technique,
just as the "LaPlacian," or LaPlace Transform, is a math technique (or
methodology). Of course, we can do a Fourier analysis on the market or
commodity curves (however, we want to define them), to determine the various
significant sinusoidal periods in the item of interest. But isn't this a long,
round-about, and potentially ambiguous way of getting the periodicity of a/
the/ market? Larry Z. in Seattle. . . .
