One of the easiest ways to mentoe is to clerk/run on a trading floor.
Although the positions are few...it is something anyone looking to break
into the business should consider. Every major clearing firm/trading
firm posts jobs(some even have web sites). Be aware that often these
jobs are viewed more as internships and pay nothing or next to nothing
but they afford the trader cheap access to the professional trading
community.
In Chicago people will "walk the floors" of the office buildings which
ajoin the CBOT CME CBOE and scope the corkboards where folks post
positions available/wanted.
