Re my questions about OptionStation, the combination of OptionStation and
TradeStation or SC may give the ability to backtest. Here are Omega's
responses:
OptionStation does not currently have any EasyLanguage-type capabilities.
SuperCharts is included to give the ability to do historical charting, which
OptionStation cannot do.
OptionStation will use the same server as TradeStation. As a result, it also
shares the symbol portfolio with TradeStation. The two applications can be used
together on the same machine without incident; the only caveat being that the
block being used must have a password for each program.
The type of scanning you mentioned is currently impossible with OptionStation.
It might be possible using the ChartScanner in TS or SC.

and
There is no available "universe" for current or past stock options which is
importable into TradeStation. I am not even aware of one exclusively for OEX
options.
Assuming you had a colleague who was collecting data on a variety of options
symbols past and present, it would be relatively simple to have him copy out his
data to an .omz file and allow you to paste it in to your server. Other than
this technique, there is no truly expedient method.

Re:
A couple of questions about option data:
1- Is there an available and importable (into TradeStation or SuperCharts)
symbol universe of all current and past stock option symbols? If not, what
about options on, say, OEX stocks?
2- Given the vast universe of stock options, current and historical, what is
the most convenient way to import historical prices on a large universe of
stock options, current and expired, into TradeStation or Supercharts?
