I've been trading with Harbor for 18 months now with a great deal of success
with internet connections. I use a commercial internet provider rather that
America Online or other ISP's which have lots of traffica and become
congested in the afternoon market hours when kids get out of school and begin
using computers.
To find a good commercial ISP go to www.thelist.com, which lists all ISP's in
the U.S. and at the bottom of the first page there is a link to access only
ISP's in your area or by area code. the commercial providers have rates
similar to AOL and others and also offer digital ISDN access. I use a 128k
ISDN line and get quick fills even when market is moving fast. Depending on
where you live in relation to New York City, you may be able to dial direct,
if not commercial ISP is the solution and the cost is tax deductable as well.
I've recommended this firm to many traders in this forum who are looking for
a professional daytrading firm with fast access to the markets with a
leveraged margin
account. The only drawback is that withdrawals can only be made once a month
with this firm. Good luck.
