I know the Xpresstrade people monitor the group, so they will probably
answer, but I'll give my opinion too.
I haven't traded the DOW but mini service has been pretty good.
Yesterday fills took a little longer (3-4 mins vs 1) but considering
everything not bad. They were pretty slow getting to one of my cancel
replace orders but it worked out better for me so I won't complain but
it did concern me a little.
As far as slippage, remember in pit trading slippage is the result of a
bad pit broker, not a bad brokerage firm. Since I am certain Xprestrade
uses independent pit brokers, they have no bearing on slippage. You
might already know this but very few people seem to get it. Also
Xprestrade goes through ADM on the floor and ADM probably uses more than
one order filler so you never know exactly who will fill your order.
As for the mini, I have nothing to compare slippage to but in general I
have thought slippage in the mini has been high. As soon as I place my
order, I watch the real time ticker and generally get filled at pretty
poor prices, but that is probably not a reflection of Xpresstrade but
rather the market.
If you are considering opening an account there, I will give the
response I have been giving everyone lately. There is nothing wrong
with Xprestrade at all that I have seen BUT with regard to Online
trading. Consider how you trade and why you want a completely on line
account.
1. If you are an active trader, don't do it unless you have a permanent
, fast internet connection. The logging on and loading of multiple
screens will make you crazy.
2. It ain't cheaper.
3. It isn't as satisfying screaming and yelling about a bad fill via
e-mail as it is on the phone.
Good Luck,
Eric
