I for one will be sad if Rick Ratchford really stops his contributions.
Sure, he can be touchy at times, but he (like Walt Downs and several others)
has taken a tremendous amount of time writing to this group, and I can
understand why he might feel a little irritated at times by criticism.
I must admit that I have not always been able to use his advice to the best
advantage, and have been a little frustrated with his responses...it has
seemed like there is always a reason why I shouldn't have traded the way I
thought he was suggesting...but he has always responded to my queries and or
implied criticism, and I have no complaints in that respect.
Now, finally, on my 3rd or possibly 4th attempt to use his advice
advantageously, I have a profitable trade going in Dec Lean Hogs, and I would
hate to see him (or Walt, for that matter) just disapper from the forum.

I "actually" made one of my larger profit trades this year on the Short
Hog Call. I make my own analysis but looked at Rick's work as
confirmation.
People mouth off all the time, here and everywhere else I have ever
been. In fact, I have stuck my foot in my mouth numerous times. It's
just that my ego does not allow me to apologize or retrack my statements
sometimes. Then I just resolve to not get myself into such a situation
again. Situation being, receiving a stream of recriminations.
