RE: government reports

This info is disseminated instantaneously via Reuters, Bloomberg etc.

When these announcements are made I typically have the US 30 yr. T bond on
one screen (gt30 govt GP) and the world economic releases page on the
other.

When the release is significantly different from the forcast, the market
typically gaps instantaneously to re-price the new information. Awesome to
see, imposible to trade unless you are prepared and have access to real
time quote systems eg. Bloomberg, Reuters.

This is the true meaning of an open transparent liquid market.

Happy trading

Dear RT'rs
It's amazing the reaction nowadays to some of these government reports.
Take the release of the PPI this morning(FRI) at 8:30 AM. The PPI came
in at over twice what was forecast by Wall Street. The
knee-jerk-inflation-jitters-response was immediate. Check out the SPZ7
Globex ticks starting at 8:30 AM this morning(FRI). It was over in 90
seconds or so. Tradestation' NewsMonitor had it on at 8:32 AM-way too
late to trade the situation. Does anyone know if these government
reports are disseminated electronically? Or is there a government
official walking into a room somewhere to announce this stuff, filled
with people with their fingers on the speedial button of their
cell-phones? Anyone know what's needed to get instantaneous info on
government reports?
Thanks,
Harry
