I attended a Wade Cook seminar this past Saturday up here in Toronto and for
those that are interested here's my thoughts:
In a word:simplistic....They make investing in the stock market seem as easy
as
1-2-3...oops that's Kenny Roberts shtick..seriously there is no talk of
risk...no mention of bear markets..just get in and grab some of those
profits.
Example: They pitch "rolling stocks"..These are stocks that fluctuate back
and forth..pick the low and the high of these rolls and place GTC orders with
your broker and it just takes care of itself...roll in the money.
This is all fine and dandy..I sometimes think serious traders get too far
bogged down in charts and obscure tech indicators and everything else from
astrology to istorical cycles so perhaps they do have a point. Im also sure
that at their paid for seminars there is much more detail and talk of risk.
In conclusion though I think that the $4,000 or $5,000 you would spend at a
seminar would be better spent placing it in an account with a good
broker..then take about three months and somewhere in the neighbourhood of
$500 spent on buying books.
Read and study these books..read the financial news every day and i think you
could reach the same point Wade's boys will have you at.
