The question from Jean Jacques (what a great name!) regarding TS symbol
timing:
I think you first need to decide the time frame on which you (or your system)
wishes to consider signals. If you wish to consider Globex, fine. Most S&P
systems do not. On the other hand, many currency systems do. Up to you.
Then go to Server, then to Tools, then to Symbol Universe Setup, then click
on the type of symbol (Future for the S&P), type in the symbol (base name,
not with the contract/month extension), click on Find. When it is found,
click on Edit Symbol, and at the bottom of the pop-up box you can specify
just when you want data collected for you for that symbol. (You can do the
same for entire exchanges by going to Exchange Universe Setup, instead of
Symbol Universe Setup.) Yes, you will screw up some charts by changing the
times - that is, the tick change on some quote windows might not match what
CNBC says - but you will be able to get the appropriate data on the time
frame you choose into your TS charts and systems.
Good luck.
