As a relatively new trader and one who is still somewhat searching for
the right approach, I do have an opinion on subscriptions.
Why am I spending my time and yours on this? Because I think there
should be a middle ground that is fair to new subscribers and the
publishers that can help people explore the options, but not take undue
advantage of the publishers.

Once a resonable time has passed either with a free trial or say the
first 30 days or so, it's unreasonable to expect a full refund unless
there's been some major misrepresentation that could not be seen at
first. However, in most cases a PRORATED refund is reasonable to
expect, I think!
The fact that profitable trades were given is probably not reason
enough to not give a refund; after all, the publisher is not going to
cover losses.
If there was a very large amount of one-on-one work at the beginning, a
prorated refund might be less reasonable. If the fee primarily went to
the purchase (revelation) of a propriatary system and the fax service is
just an aid, then only a small % refund could be expected.

I've tried a number of services but only attempted to cancel two.
Commmodity Trend Service was very businesslike in giving a prorated
refund. [I subsequently have subscribed to their website (check it out
for inexpensive option and future info/graphs)]. I subscribed to a 1
year followup (including seminar tapes) to Ken Roberts original course
and was very dissatisfied with the complete lack of new info but I got
nowhere trying to cancel/return that.
