I has been years since I used QCharts so I cannot compare.
Below are some thoughts on your questions. I would say it is designed to be programmed and the drawing tools are secondary.
And I think once you see what you can do with programming, you will never go back to drawing on charts...

There is a drawing tool bar for inserting drawing objects. After they are drawn you double-click in them to modify them.

There are alarms and auto-execution from EasyLanguage code (TradeStation brokerage only) but You probably need code to connect the two.

You zoom by selecting the desired corner points. It is easy to cancel.

You can copy/paste complete windows then modify things in the pasted window.

You can program most anything you might need - drawing lines, or text.
