Data ... who is the owner?

Hi all

just a quick question regarding downloaded data.

If i download data from a dataprovider thats end of day , Do I own that
data?
And if i get it from Yahoo , Do i own that data?
If i dont own it then ???what am i legally doing with it??? am i borrowing
it?? or forbidden to sell it / give it away?
If i am forbindened to sell it , then if i give it away is that illegal?

Just thinking out aloud at the moment..... What happened to Mr West's data
provider project?
