It is not curious to me that 99.9% of the institutional world have
absolutely NO interest 'at all' in TradeStation. Even amongst the v.few
that do know 'TS' its considered a retail joke. If you look at any
requirements put out by hedgefunds or fund managers for quant/system
developers they do not even mention EL because EL is a dead end
street(BTW that doesn't mean EL isn't any good). And are you surprised
when volume players arnt interested in a platform that executes solely
through 1 broker or where 'extra' unreliable addon products are
required to execute elsewhere - Just some of what they want is speed,
connectivity, reliability(not necessarily in that order) and more
importantly written in C++. TS fails 100%!

TradeStation missed a massive opportunity. They 'could' have linked
up with MatLab or SPlus or even some of the free stats packages, they 'could have'
produced a code converter which could export/import systems,
indicators to and from C++ that produce exe, all spreading the 'EL' word.
They could have made connectivity with other brokers and fund management
functions/software easier, earlier. But they havent and wont bother because
their market is solely retail customers who dont know any better and dont
mind paying through the nose to execute through them. EL will always be in
its own little unheard of world.
