eSignal ActiveX Plugin for TS2000i

Setup guide and instructions for use

Setup

Before installing the eSignal ActiveX Plugin for TS2000i, make sure GlobalServer is closed.

It is recommended that you also close all running applications.

Run the eSignal ActiveX Plugin for TS2000i installer. When the installation routine is completed click Finish.

Open GlobalServer in either Online or Offline Mode.

In the main menu select File->Download from eSignal…

The Download from eSignal window will open.

Depending on the type of securities you have in GlobalServer, you may need to add Items.

An Item is the combination of GlobalServer fields specifically Category (Index, Bond, Stock, etc.), Exchange, Field (Trade, Bid or Ask) and Resolution i.e. the History to Save (1 Tick, 1 Minute, 1 Day, etc.).

For the purpose of this Setup Guide we will add Index as an Item. The same procedure can then be applied for all other Items.

Click Add Item… and the following window will open.

Select the desired Category (in this case Index) from the dropdown menu.

Select the Exchange(s) that you want to include/exclude within this Category, then select the Field(s) and Resolution(s) you need.

In this specific example we will be selecting Trade Record only and 1 Tick, 1 Minute and 1 Day as the History to Save.

Repeat the steps above to add any other Item you may need. For each Item you can select a completely different set of Exchanges, Fields and Resolutions.

Next click OK and you will be taken back to the Download from eSignal window where the Item(s) are now listed in the Items to Download box. Click on the Item and in the History Settings box you will see listed the Field(s) and Resolution(s) you had selected.

Verify that all the boxes are checked as in the image above.

If you need to Edit or Remove an Item, right click on the Item and select Edit or Remove from the context menu.

When you click Edit, you will be taken back to the Add Item window where you can apply your changes. Once you have completed editing the Item, click OK at which point you will be asked to confirm or cancel the changes made.

You are now ready to download the data using the ActiveX Plugin for TS2000i.

Use

In GlobalServer click File->Download from eSignal… (see first image in this document). This will open the Download from eSignal window.

In the order select:

1. Item(s) to be downloaded.

2. Field(s) and Resolution(s) you want to download.

3. Start/End dates if downloading intraday data.

4. Start/End dates if downloading daily data.

5. Click OK.

The Download from eSignal window will close and you will be taken back to GlobalServer where two windows will open specifically Symbols to Download and Download Performance.

In the Symbol to Download window select the symbols for which you want to download data then click OK.

The Symbols to Download window will then close and you can now monitor the status of the download in the Download Performance window.

If at any time you wish to interrupt the download, select File->Stop Download from eSignal on the main menu of GlobalServer.

Once the data is downloaded and imported in GlobalServer, the Download Performance window will show Download Completed.

Thank you for using eSignal ActiveX Plugin for TS2000i
