It all depends on the OS running on the drive. Win98 will handle the move.
2000 or XP will not, unless you prepare the drive first.
Here is a good set of instructions on how to move an XP drive from one
system to another.

This information is also useful for when your current motherboard blows up
and you want to move your drive into a new box.
