re moving adaptive averages and filters comparisons

Hi all

I have a few different types of adaptive/moving averages ... and ... I was
wondering is there a simple way to test which re moving adaptive
averages/filters are the best?  i dont want to backtest with a lot of
redundant and doubled up strategies.
Any one got any ideas? simpler the better coz my brain hurts.
