But building new tools is always a lot more fun than simply learning to use the ones you have effectively, despite the fact that it requires perhaps a hundred times more effort.
And since developing trading systems and trading is so stressful, this activity also postpones the day when you will have to start trading!
This trading software has the added advantage that not only do you get to develop the stuff, you also get to waste gobs of time revising and maintaining it every time the data vendor or broker interface changes. So with a little luck, you will never have to do any real work!
I guess everybody has to learn this the hard way. :-)
