Start TWS first. Then start HLS. Then start GS, in online mode. Accept TWS
prompt to accept connection. Go to "Symbol Portfolio" tab in GS. Make sure
the "Real-Time Status" of all symbols is "Connected". If some symbols are
not connected, right click on them and click connect. Nothing can go wrong
at this point 8 )
No chart? Double click on the symbol in GS for which there is no chart. Do
you see ticks coming in the "Edit Data" tab? If yes, there is no reason why
you wouldn't be able to chart them. And if you have done as above, there is
no reason why ticks wouldn't be coming in.
Something to realize.. if GS is offline, all symbols in GS are "not
connected", not receiving data. But even when GS is online, the symbol must
be connected to receive data. And when there's data, there's chart.
