I also saw this this morning, but I have seen it before also. I have no
idea what causes it, but I have always found it easy to correct - this
morning I just switched to offline mode (File - Work Online: clicking this
sets you offline), then immediately switched back to online. Sometimes
doing nothing more than clicking on refresh will cure it.
Incidentally, when I noticed the blank charts this morning and the "waiting
for ..." message, a quick check of a quotes page showed that data were being
received. Apparently only the connection to the charting module was lost.
