Does anyone actually use Tradestation as an online broker? If so, I
would be curious about the same issues.

Well, that disqualifies Interactive Brokers. They meet every one of
your criteria except maybe "good customer service." I have personally
had good customer service from them, but I hear stories all the time of
people having a hard time reaching anyone on the phone. I have not had
a problem, and when I write a question in email it is answered within a
couple of days.

I like their API. They have downloadable documentation and examples for
Excel DDE, C++, Java, etc. and it's pretty well documented.
