Hello Steve,
I would stick with Samsung. I'm very happy with my SyncMasters. I
think Samsung is going through one of those brief company phases when
companies offer superior quality at a slightly discounted price in order to
gain market share.
I agree that the 19" seems to have the best price per size right now.
I had 21" tubes but when I bought my first 19" SyncMaster, I found
that unlike my 21" tube, the SyncMaster could display a razor-sharp 1280X1024
resolution. Until they get the prices down, I find no reason to
get a 21" flat panel. I guess it also depends on how far you are from
your display and your eyesight.
