TS4 Alerts Sounds not Audible!

I found an email that was previously posted to this forum.

The text was:

"I used to be able to hear the alerts in TS4 as they went off, but that
isn't happening now.  Other noises/sounds in Win98 are audible, so I know
the speakers are working."



I am having the exact problem.
I have tried different WAV files.

I am sure that if I reinstall TS4 the problem will be fixed , but if someone
knows what TS4 exe file or dll file
controls this procedure I might be able to copy it from another computer
that I have TS4 installed.



Can anyone remember what or if there was a solution to this.
