John,

In the Global Server choose a symbol and highlight it then right click
and choose disconnect symbol. I don't think this is your problem
however. As fast as your machine should be why is data swamping the
input buffer? With all the problems you have had with that computer I
would think there is still some problem with the computer hardware.
Which port are you using? What kind? I've forgotten.

I remember you lost 4 hard drives. Now in well over twenty years of
using hard drives I only had one die that I didn't cause myself and I
keep computers forever. At my businesses I've never seen one die on
any of the computers. I think you have a conflict somewhere in your
devices. You can check it in the device manager but be sure to use
view then show hidden devices. Look for a conflict. If you don't
find one then the best thing to do is uninstall every single piece of
hardware in that system that you can and still be able to reboot to
windows then shut down and unplug all of them. Hook up ONE device and
boot up. Keep checking after each is installed for conflicts. You
have had too many serious problems for it not to be involved with
devices, hardware, IRQ or Memory range used by the device. You have
one in there hiding somewhere that is killing you.

Best regards,
  Jimmy Snowden
