>>>Just downloaded ProphetX and it won't even chart a 1 min bar of ESZ3
the emini.
hmmm. I just entered @ESZ3, retrieved data for yesterday, and it
continues to build 1 minute charts.
I clicked Chart->New Chart Window->Entered the symbol and parameters->and
see a chart.
>>>It charts indices and big SP just fine on 1 min bars.
Yes. I have this too
>>>Tech support is clueless (typical DTN)
ProphetX is normally supported by our Fimi office. Due to the
circumstances, we did very quick training of our DTN Real-Time support
reps so we could at least get our customers an alternative in case of an
outage. Sometimes, that just isn't good enough.
>>>Don't waste your time --- I would not trade off this piece of ----.
This doesn't seem like a constructive suggestion to your fellow traders.
We have thousands of customers, mostly on trading floors, using ProphetX.
Most of our Real-Time satellite customers appreciate that we are doing
everything we can to ensure uninterrupted access to trading data.
>>> Well, I'm still dumb enuff to have DTN satellite feed.
>>>As a DTN satellite user I did not receive any "outbound call" from any
of your reps.
I am looking up your account right now to see why you weren't called. We
have thousands of customers, and trying to get ahold of everyone would be
nearly impossible. This is why we posted messages to our satellite
systems, as well as to this group so you could call in for the information
(which you did, so we accomplished our goal). I understand that nothing
will make you happy in this situation, but I think the majority of our
customers appreciate the effort we put forth.
>>>You should purchase the conversion tool yourself and convert the data
from ascii to .xpo format and post the refresh data on a website for
tradestation users.
I am looking into this.
>>>You think increasing the microwave power will do any good ? What
homegrown are you smoking, Jay ?
I don't smoke, other than an occasional cigar. I don't know if increasing
the power will help, but my knowledge of transmission systems tells me
more power is better...
>>> Right, like it did any good when simple thunderstorms moved over your
uplink 2 to 3 times in recent months we all lost data ---- a hurricane
will smother your uplink.
It hasn't yet, and we hope it won't. We are providing a backup in case it
does.
>>>Your DTN idiot administrators don't have the sense to locate their
uplink in a desert area where rain is rare.
We actually have some very smart people working here. Unfortunately, the
satellite and associated uplink is not owned by us. We lease satellite
space (as does all other data providers) from a satellite operator. We
can continue to work with them in hopes they put a backup uplink somewhere
other than on the east coast, but in the end it is their system.
