Firewall Types - Linux

Hello Tony,

as you may be aware, Linux per se does not run MS Windows programs directly.
However, there is a free software called WINE which emulates Windows on
Linux; using this, many Windows programs such as AmiBroker may be run
satisfactorily on Linux. I don't know whether this would be true for TS4,
though. TS4 being the kludge that it is (sorry), I would have my doubts.

You might try out for yourself, though. Lindows (a popular variant of Linux,
www.lindows.com) offers a CD which lets you test Linux + WINE from the
CD-drive directly, without requiring any changes to your hard drive. It's a
neat way to test not only Linux proper, but also the compatibility of any
Windows applications that you may want to run from Linux if you do decide to
switch.

Best regards,

Michael Suesserott
