Part of a comparison shopper test ... comparing MetaServer and DynaStore
here.
On the bright side, both MetaServer and DynaStore hook up to StarBand
through the LAN and the Multilink (3 phone lines bonded) through a regular
Dialup, tho IQFeed Connection Manager doesn't handle unexpected disconnects
from either without crashing or failing to reconnect smoothly. Manual
intervention is required. This issue is acknowledged by IQFeed folks.
Now, the problem of the day .... After what appeared to be a normal setup
in Windows2000 Pro of DynaStore.
Using TS2000i and attempting to use DynaStore for realtime IQFeed this
evening. My first attempt using the 15 day demo of DynaStore.
Perhaps it is my inexperience with Global Server .. However, it appears
here from the DynaStore Status Monitor that quotes are being processed ...
68 just now thus far on this attempt to get DynaStore connected to Global
Server.
I'm attempting the single symbol : ES U3 (@ESU3 is IQFeed's vender name).
Looking at DynaStore's Input status is saying "Connected", Output status is
"1 client connected" in "Socket Mode".
Global Server Performance window shows the DataFeed is Signal, Connected,
but 0 quotes received or processed. However, Quotes processed by Dynastore
= 130 now. So, GlobalServer ain't receiving the feed.
There was one attempt to get the thing working in which GlobalServer
reported 1 Quote received and processed. I can't repeat it. All the other
attempts show zero Quotes received.
TS2000i workspace for ES U3 is not updating, naturally.
By comparison ... MetaServer had been downloading data all day without
problems and feeding data to TS2000i's workspace for ES U3 before I shut it
down and installed DynaStore.
So, I shutdown DynaStore, ran the GlobalServer wizard and set it up for
MetaServer again and it is running OK ... downloading, Global Server is
processing and delivering to TS1000i's workspace.
Perhaps the glitch is in the Portfolio portion of DynaStore ... or in the
Signal emulation where Templates for GlobalServer are set up. These are
different from MetaServer. However, my lack of experience prevents my
knowing what's right and not.
Ideas extremely welcome here ...
