I'm running a cable modem with router. this gear and my Tradestation server
is supported with an APC UPS.
Occassional the broadband cable goes out and I have to power on/off the
router to recover IP addresses for the office network.
I have other X10 devices, and have located a $ 70 telephone transponder at
www.smarthome.com, (my source for X10 goodies).
This will do the job. I can put an X10 'Appliance Switch' between the UPS
and the modem/router pair. This can be turned on and off by telephne
command.
Butttt, X10 isn't foolproof - rare false triggers. also $ 70 is $ 70
although seems quite reasonable.
Question - anybody know a direct, single box solution - telephone controlled
110VAC switch, for less than $ 100.
