Rod,

i have turned it off twice...seems to get switched back on...Norton finds no
virus...it may have been caused in some way when i returned a previous
mail...

don't have a clue as to how these things work, but i'll keep an eye on OE
for a while...

i wish to thank everyone for their patience.
