I have both - duo and single Processor T2000i boxes. I have never seen the
visible benefit from Duo processors - although 2000i is advertised as a
multithread platform. In fact I am still not able to identify that either
Global Server or ts32.exe are using more than a single processor. I have
tried various tweaks. There were quite a few threads on this about a year
ago. I regard the issue as unclarified. My duo setup is duo Intell PIII /
with SCSI drive/ 512 ECC RAM. I find a single Intell PIV 2 gog Dell 600
server as a much better setup. Get at least 512 ECC Ram /it comes with SCSI
drive/controllers. - run Windows 2000. I can't validate this - but I think
the L2 Cache must make a huge difference - because something is. A heavily
utilized 2000i with mutliple workspaces open and big tick data sets is
stable stabel stable - and fast on this machine. And it has never crashed or
caused the dreaded " TS32.ex had created and error and will be shutdown by
windows" - error. Never. What more can you ask for?

Subject: 2000i and Dual Processor

Hello,

I read a complain about TS7 with a dual AMD system.

Now I am thinking of using Dell workstation 450, dual processor capable, to
do some of my work. Tracking about 1200 stocks in real time with Radar
Screen.

Can we have some feedback from people with experience in using 2000i running
on a dual processors? Is it necessary to have a 15,000 rpm SCSI hard drive?
How much Ram? Will XP hit 100% CPU usage? Which OS is more stable?

Have a good weekend!
