My experiences might be helpful. Been on "full auto" over a year now, and
coding a TS email notification to my mobile phone of an error between TS and
PATS (for example) works great 90% of the time. That other 10% is what
happens when the datafeed is dropped going into TS... no data... no bar
calculation... no email notification of errors.

One time, it was TS data that failed (not bad, all things considered).
Twice, it was CME/Globex data that failed (vewy vewy bad). The boys at
eFloorTrader bailed me out by placing a hedge in the SP pit.

Like all things in life, accounting for and automating that last 10% is the
bitch. You really would need a custom executable "watching" several
variables, like "Is all your software running?", "Has there been a new tick
in the last N minutes?".

Then once you have that done, you have to account for power failures and
internet access dropouts.

Buy hey, that's what makes it fun right??

RIGHT??

{..... sound of crickets.... }

Best regards,

Gene Pope
