Vince:
A 'better' or worse data vendor depends on your evaluation
criteria. Your criteria may be price,
coverage, accuracy, ease of use, availablity of
customer support, etc. So, figure out what you want.
Some vendors I know of, or used in the past include:
CRB (they are at CRBtrader.com)
DBC eSignal (their EOD service)
FutureSource
Genensis (at Genesis Financial Data systems)
Pinnacle
Quote.com
Reuters
Telescan
Warden Bros.
The list is alphabetic, without prejudice --except
perhaps a note that Telescan EOD is a hassle and that
Reuters error correction / symbol maintenance is a
nightmare.
