Dear David,
I was one of TS's first clients, and from my perspective, TS ver 3.5 was
their best program. I grieved over their decision not to provide a fix for
3.5 so it could handle Y2K, and I "involuntarily" upgraded to TS4 with much
reluctance. In so many words, I share your sentiments exactly.
Several months ago, I was met with the predicament of wanting to use a TS
add-on program that would work only with 32-bit programs, such as TS2Ki, to
which I had studiously avoided upgrading. I bit the bullet and upgraded.
To my surprise, both the actual upgrade and my use of TS2Ki thereafter (for
the past 2-3 months now) has been seemless, as in no problems. Based on my
limited experience, you may wish to reconsider upgrading to TS2Ki.
Regarding your desire for historic tick data, DB, of Dynastore fame,
provides a product, Dynaloader, that will download historic data from a
variety of data sources, for both TS4 and TS2Ki --- see
www.dynastoresoftware.com
Sincerely,
Richard
