Greetings all,
I am running win98 and having a continuing problem getting the TS4
security block to work with an HP600 all-in-one printer. I had a second
parallel port installed today, but I can still only get either the
dongle or the printer to work on LPT1. Neither works on LPT2:
Does anyone have experience getting the dongle to work on LPT2? or the
the HP600 of that matter. It makes no difference to me, it's just that
the HP600 wants a dedicated port. At the very beginning of the install I
get a message reading: "Install was unable to locate your HP OfficeJet
on any of your parallel ports. Please select which port your OfficeJet
will be connected to." I then select LPT2:, click "next" and then read:
Your OfficeJet could not be found on ports LPT1: - LPT3:" So there's
evidently something fishy about that port, which is why the security
block won't work there either, do I have at least that much right? I
thought all I had to do was to add a second port and plug the device or
dongle in.
