has a free hard disk benchmarking utility. I found my ATA 100
drive ran at 5% of it's potential on Win2K. I think SP2 fixed
this, but it was a common problem.

Dunno about the serial card, it sure seems like you've got
enough horsepower, but obviously something's jammed up.
