This sounds very odd. A phone call to several US futures brokers seems to
confirm they're quite willing to accept your business.

Peregrine Financial Group that runs the BEST Direct online trading platform
even has an office in Toronto. I haven't called them, but it would be
unusual for PFG to have an office in Toronto and not accept futures traders
from Canada. If you're stuck for a futures broker, I'd give them a call in
Toronto. 800-342-8751
