DTN rolled back the changes and my TS2Ki is working fine today - no CPU
overload. But this reprieve is only temporary (3-4 weeks?) unless
Tradestation (Omega) agrees to modify TS2Ki to accommodate changes in the
DTN feed. The situation is detailed in the attached email from a DTN
representative.
I have not been able to reach Tradestation tech support today (busy signals)
but intend to ask them to make these apparently simple changes to the Global
Server; failure to do so will effectively kill the product as an intraday
tool. I don't pretend to understand the legal responsibility that
Tradestation (Omega) may have to TS2Ki customers but am inclined to wonder
whether, now that they are in the more highly regulated brokerage business,
they are more susceptible to complaints to the SEC, state securities
commissions and attorneys general. If they fail to support one product in
order to steer customers to their current product (TS Pro), such actions
might be seen as a deceptive, even fraudulent business practice.
