As was reported in several posts months ago on this topic, the big problem
with the AMD set-up was the buggy motherboards supplied by FIC and ASUS to
support the AMD processor.
If you did not keep up with all of the BIOS upgrades, you could easily get
"hosed".
In some cases, we were doing BIOS updates on a monthly basis.
However, reliability has improved dramatically from both suppliers over the
past 6 months.
New technology is almost always problematic in the beginning.
