Geez, talk about a bad case of mole-hill-mountain-itis. :-)
The month-end settlement is just a bookkeeping thing based on the cash
close and a "fair" premium. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the
price anything (futures, options, blah blah) trades at 5 minutes later
at the futures close. The only people affected are CTAs who have to mark
their open positions to market at the official month-end settlement
price. The impact on us little guys is zero, nil, nada, zip.
Get it? Sheesh.
