Re: Directory scans of ascii files

PureBytes Links

Trading Reference Links

Supercharts4 and Tradestation4 are the same in this area.
The Ascii Settings window that opens is a link to the Data Downloader Symbol
Universe settings.
Often an Ascii file is not named exactly the same as the Symbol Name in the
Symbol Universe so TS and SC bring up the Ascii Settings window so you can
select the correct symbol and adjust any values that need changing.
I have not heard of any way of bypassing this.

If you want to get your Ascii data into the downloader you can copy some
data you have to a new directory, then rename the symbol, delete all the
data from the new symbol, adjust the date, then manually copy and paste your
Ascii data into that symbol in the downloader.
You can't paste too much at a time or the paste will stop responding.
