Gary,
A mac package that advertise's that is can use a emulator. I myself have
decided that i will go that mac route instead of emulator, for me its worth
spending a few hundred getting a used mac to be able to run their software.
So far thats the only package i have found that is #1 reasonable cost's
associated with it,#2, supports several data formats, #3 Can backtest in
"portfolio mode" down to any intra-day timeframe. One other program i did
attempt to use to backtest in portfolio mode down to the intra-day timeframe
was Investor/RT which is windows/mac located http://www.linnsoft.com/
However, i myself do not recommend them based on my experiance using the
software. I took the trial offer and had repeated program crashes. Could not
even get it to run during market hours, although i did talk to several
people who said they did use it on windows without crashing. If you do find
another program that is windows based with the intra-day portfolio
backtesting capability i would be interested in learning about it.
Regards,
KJH
