RE: Omega Clock Time

Just to finish my comment on the clock issue. Ts2ki and presumably Ts4, I
dont remember back that far, get their date and time from the system clock
unless you are connected to a real time feed in which case the date/time
comes from the feed itself. There is a setting for datafeed time in Ts2ki
but the only choice is the actual feed GS has been setup to use. Im using
eSig and the feed time is off a few seconds from the atomic clock or other
NTP servers that I sync my system clock to. Generally during mkt hours DBC
feed time displayed in the title bar of Ts2k Charting is up to 30 sec behind
the atomic clock. Right now, about 9:30pm EST, its about 3 sec behind. The
odd thing I reported before is that my system clock runs just 2 sec behind
the atomic clock whenever I am connected to eSignal's feed. If I resync my
system clock to the atomic clock it is correct for a few seconds then it
looses 2 seconds and stays 2 seconds behind. As soon as I disconnect from
the real time feed my system clock stays synced with the atomic clock. This
seems wierd and I did wonder why the datafeed would interfere with the
system clock.

Bill -

I'm using TS4 and it gets its time from the feed. I, too, set my internal
clock to an internet time server every hour. I just checked my TS4 time and
my system clock time and there was zero skew (this is not always true,
however). If you're using TS2000i, however, it has an option which causes
your system clock to be set to the feed time (and that, I believe, is the
default setting of the option). I don't know how often TS2Ki resets your
clock, but that is probably the source of the discrepancy you're observing -
assuming that you are using TS2Ki.

My feed, incidentally, is BMI/cable and I've never seen a skew as large as a
minute.
