I did some comparisons last year between eSignal and Quote.com and they
were very close.
John Mc Kenzie wrote to me recently and said:
To: "Michael Watkins" <watkins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re:
eSignal - etc.
>> Mike, The additional ticks recd is usually less than
1,000 and makes No difference in the pattern [mw: we were discussing bar
shapes] for
the most part. I always receive less than the CME
posts in " time & sales " the fol day. I was using it
initially to try to determine best feed ( if ticks are
considerable less, then they haven't the best band
width). <<
In an earlier message John told me he was running DTN:
>> I receive More ticks on DTN, - - BUT it lags eSig by at least the Up &
Back " ping times " to Satelite to a few seconds - - haven't had a " fast
market "
since getting eSig - - perhaps Fri coming <<
So all in all I've satisfied myself that eSignal is delivering data fast;
is right up there in terms of tick count. A side benefit for some users is
that we also get the eSignal charting, and while its no TradeStation, at
least you can do on-demand analysis of symbols you don't normally track. I
find that very handy myself.
I have never been tainted by the BMI saga but I have to say of all the
internet feeds, DBC strikes me as the only one that is professional in the
management of their business, including the technology. As for PCQuote,
while its not an option for TS4 users, for 2000i, I would not use their
platform. Frequent disconnects, even if they were very brief, meant that I
didn't have the confidence in the platform.
http://ottographs.com/charts/2001-03/06/MW-12.gif says it all for me. No
muss, no fuss, it just works.
And to DB and the Dynastore crew - that is fantastic news that you will be
supporting TS4 / eSignal!!!!!! It would be nice if you ported Dynaloader
over too, then you can have a whole crowd of TS2000i users as well.
Regards,
Michael
