RE: Omega Listens - Ts2ki is already dead even if it still exists

Sorry for being the pessimist here. Maybe something of my background could
help to explain. I got my first contact with Omega buying Superchart and
believing I got a good tool. This was at the time when you could both see
the code Tradestation users had written, and could enter code with
semicolons yourself even if with some difficulty. I had to watch Omega build
those features out of the product I bought. I decided I had bought their low
end product and that was the reason why they intentionally crippled their
product. Thus I bought the "open" platform, Tradestation. Only to realise it
was intentionally crippled as well and that open just was a fun way of using
words. Now I have seen them make a move away from Tradestation to the "pro"
version, and comparing the history scares me stiff. Omega is the company
clearly proving "no news is good news" as the wrong belief to have.

Pierre, you say ts2k is alive, but what I see you saying is that you have no
public proof what so ever that any future work what so ever will be done to
Tradestation by Omega. Yet you are sure the series continue. Well, we are
all sure (quite sure at least) that our currently owned software will not
suddenly disappear from our computers, so yes Tradestation still exists. But
lives? It only lives if Omega continues to feed it so it grows. The
alternative to lives is that it exists and that is the only thing we have
reason to believe.

I can understand if you want to believe more, or even will have to claim
more even if you do not believe. You have a chance of making money as long
as people continue to use Tradestation or even new users buy Tradestation,
since you earn money as a third party. Thus you have to believe it will
continue to live, or even if you do not believe it, you will have to state
it (Omega will not let you in to their new products if you state there is a
reason to doubt their will to let Tradestation live).

But honestly, no one has any real reason to believe Tradestation lives
today. There are no promises, not even hints, of Omega keeping it alive any
more. Yes it exists, so does a grave, but it does not contain a living human
being just because it exists. Omega is not feeding Tradestation, it will not
grow any bigger, it will only become older, as we will gradually become
wiser about the attitude Omega has towards existing customers, opposed to
their love for finding brand new customers. I would say their lack of
communication as well as their stock price is a very clear indicator of
their attitude towards existing customers.

Let us morn our suffering dying Tradestation, let us keep its soul in good
memory, but let us be wise enough not to believe it getting fed by Omega to
grow further. It is crippled already and will only become an older cripple
the remaining days of its existence.

Maybe, if we do not stay quiet and believe withouth any good reson, but
instead demand proof, maybe we like the environmentalists can affect the bad
company to feed the dying animal? This will only happen if we cease to
belive in them feeding Tradestation as long as we do not see it getting fed.
It will only happen if we demand them to prove they will feed the poor
animal. Not if we stay quiet and believe the animal is being fed even if we
see no food and no growth in the poor cripple.
