Interesting ...

We did check about the Online Expro and decided not to
go because of 2 reasons,

1. it seems to be highly concentrated on stock trading
and those who are known to be there are mostly
brokerages ?! looks like it is a brokerage show
   instead.

2. the brokerages listed almost all of them have
their own "trading software" that have nothing
more than some simple charts and quotes.
Obviously we are not part of their business
models and probably we will be discriminated :)

Probably locating information from mailing list
like this one is better :)

One interesting study we located has an estimation
of 40000 to 50000 people in u.s are daytrading
stocks individually - but cybercorp has more than
8000 all by itself. so, the remaining ones in this
group are not likely to be enough for all these
brokerages, I guess :)

The # of online accounts is at 8 to 9 million on
the other hand. Could this be the reason why
so many firms jump into the online discount stock
brokerage business?!

Maybe the number of online accounts does not matter.
It could just be a paradigm shift that people are
looking for lower entrance cost to "gamble" in the
stock market only. Thus the cost is lower and the
burden is shifted to the brokerages who can no
longer make decent money and have to provide a lot
more to keep the customers ...

How can we be sure the smaller discount brokerages
will survive then? What would happen to our money
if they go under?!

I don't know.

Maybe someone on the list willing to share some ideas.
